The region

East-Estonia (Ida-Viru) cluster is situated in Eastern-Virumaa county.  Ida-Virumaa is Estonian northeast county bordered with the Finnish Gulf in the north, the Narva River in the east and Peipsi Lake in the south. In the southwest and west the border lies mainly through forests and bogs. Eastern-Virumaa is a rich and controversial county. The County has great industrial traditions – the biggest part of Estonian production and power engineering is located here and there are produced about 16 % of Estonian industrial products. The county of long industrial tradition and beautiful nature is also a tourism region with great potential.

Meresuu Spa & Hotel

Narva-Jõesuu Spa Hotel
Narva-Jõesuu is one of the oldest resorts in Estonia, it started attracting visitors as a health resort already in 1872. Narva-Jõesuu is located on the coast of the Gulf of Finland 200 km from Tallinn and 150 km from St. Petersburg. The main building of the spa is designed in the functionalist style of the 1930s and it is a quite unique place! The building of the hotel is like a white sailboat amidst the waves–it is surrounded by pine forest and the hotel is located near the unique sandy beach with length of 12 km.

Saka Cliff
Saka Manor is located on the high coastal cliff of northern Estonia. Saka manor centre was established in about 1629. For the last 60 years Saka manor has predominantly been in military use and therefore inaccessible to the public. The new life arrived to Saka bluff in 2000s when the state sold the manor complex to the private ownership. The manor buildings located in the place with outstanding landscape, right in the edge of the 50-metre high cliff steep, are renovated into a visiting centre of the Baltic bluff. The idyllic spa-hotel and restaurant have been currently opened in one of the outhouses.

Jõhvi Concert Hall
In October 2005 Jõhvi became the home of Estonia’s newest concert hall, a multifunctional performing arts venue ideally equipped for various occasions (architects Ra Luhse, Tanel Tuhal, acoustics Linda Madalik). Today Jõhvi Concert Hall is the cultural heart of the city hosting a broad spectrum of events that include classical music, ballet, theatre, musicals, children’s shows and pop concerts. Furnished with state-of-the art technical equipment the venue offers the best conference facilities (2 large auditoria and 4 smaller seminar rooms) in the region with catering for various occasions.

Narva Museum 
The Narva Museum is one of the oldest museums of Estonia which was establised in the second half of 19th century. Narva Castle, named as Castle of Herman, was founded in XII century by Danes on the bank of Narva river. Castle was rebuilt by Livonian Order. And today form - final form it got in 15 century. Narva castle is one of the most interesting examples of castle-stronghold architecture in Baltic States.The castle was significantly damaged during the Second World War. Restoration works started in middle of last century still go on. Since 1987 Narva Museum is housed in the restored rooms of the castle.

Museum of Oil Shale
Kohtla-Järve Museum of Oil Shale is an academic museum that was established in 1966. Its visitors have access to a permanent display that reflects the formation of oil shale as a rock, as well as the history of its mining industry and the present value of oil shale.
In the museum collection, at the disposal of researchers, there are more than 27’000 units. In addition to the articles of economic history are more than 600 works of art, the oldest of which dates back to the 1920’s.

Adrenaator

Old oil shale mines, tracks going to right and left, up and down ... Deepest parts are full of water, even the forest is in the water. Adventure company „Adrenaator” offers adrenaline and experiences in every step in the undiscovered industrial landscape of Eastern-Estonia.

January - Devin municipality in Bulgaria endorses local environmental Charter In the framework of the EMAS Easy MOVE-IT! project, 4 hotels in Devin (Bulgaria) - Ismena, Persenk, Orpheus, and Euridika, along with the municipality and the local Hunting and Fisherment Union will sign on January 13, 2012 the Charter for Sustainable SPA & Wellness destinations.
