Anu January 05, 2012
In the framework of the EMAS Easy MOVE-IT! project, 4 hotels in Devin (Bulgaria) - Ismena, Persenk, Orpheus, and Euridika, along with the municipality and the local Hunting and Fisherment Union will sign on January 13, 2012 the Charter for Sustainable SPA & Wellness destinations.
In the past couple of years, the Charter initiators and experts from TIME Foundation and the Green Business Initiative (an enterprise of TIME and TAOFES), worked to raise the awareness and train local entrepreneurs to reduce the consumption of energy and water and introduce efficient measures for water conservation and waste management. Using the EMAS easy methodology, specific action plans for environmental improvements were developed and hotel staff was trained.

Thus with joint efforts, the Green Business Initiative, TIME and the municipality of Devin reached an agreement on the Destination Devin.

Destination Devin means clean water, fresh air and the beauty of the local mountains - this is what brings tourists there. The signatories to the Charter are aware that their towns attractiveness can be preserved and improved, only if they manage to maintain these key characteristics of Destination Devin
